etopps.com
I used to be into a lot (back when I had a good paying job and my wallet wasn't empty). Its kinda like the Stock market for cards. You buy the card, you can either keep it in your online portfolio, or have it delivered.
If you leave it in your portfolio, you can trade it, or sell it (sometimes for profit). I bought an Albert Pujols and sold it for 4 times what I paid.
I bought a couple Chase Headley rookies, and he traded me his glove for one.
They also offer autograph signings sometimes. Thats how I got my Morneau, Johan Santana, BJ Upton, Nick Markakis, and Howie Kendrick.

BTW, how did you contact Headley to make that trade? That's sick!

If it had been a regular card, I would have just given it to him. But it cost $8 each when I ordered them, then UPS shipping. The prices have gone down this year at least. I say its like the stock market because they run it like it is, but unfortunately its only for etopps cards. They release them in IPOs (like stocks) and they track the value of the card as they sell on ebay. And you can also trade them directly on the site with the other members.

But, it's harder to compare it to the stock market than thepit because it only deals with Etopps, which is a very very small portion of cards. Thepit deals with many more cards, and it has symbols for each card, and you are able to view trends of sales of the cards.

Yeah, you can. you can view the original IPO price (which other cards don't have), and how much it was selling for after that... It shows you a graph of its sales prices from when it was released to current time.

etopps and topps? i accidently clicked etopps while on topps one time but i had no idea what it was. Well, Topps, you can go to the store and buy packs and boxes of. And theres almost an unlimited print run on the commons. eTopps, are available only through the website, and can only be bought from the website itself (unless you do second-hand). They release just a few cards at a time for one week only, each one has a limited print run, (like 500 cards each, or so). You place you're orders, and at the end of the week, they add up the totals sold. if you got your order in before the print run is out, then you get the card, if not then you don't get charged. Every card is Guaranteed to be Mint condition or better. And you can either choose to have it delivered, or keep it in an online portfolio. (I've got both). The ones in your portfolio, can either be traded on the etopps site, or sold on ebay. (or just stored there forever).

I signed up for e-Topps newsletters by e-mail. This weeks cards are Nick Swisher, Casey McGehee, Andrew Bailey, and Mark Derosa. I also have never bought anything even though I have an account. They are pretty expensive. But if a Cabrera floats around sometime, I'll go for it.

If you have an account for e-topps, you can get them on ebay for cheaper than the original price. You just have to set up your etopps account with your ebay account, so when you win, you can claim the cards into your portfolio. Or just find them "in hand" and have the seller send them to you directly.
