This question is so tough, in my opinion. It definitely has to be between Kobe, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem-Abdul Jabaar.
What about best college player of all time, too?

Me, Julius Erving, Wilt Chamberlain, and Larry Bird. If Kobe keeps up his stats for a few more years he's way up there.

Me, Julius Erving, Wilt Chamberlain, and Larry Bird. If Kobe keeps up his stats for a few more years he's way up there. IMO, if he retires now, he is still up there. Especially if he wins a championship this year. But, if he can play at this level for 5-6 more years (that's a lot to ask, but still), which I'm sure he can, remember, he's not yet 31, then he could POSSIBLY take 2nd. He's not going to finish up better than Jordan, though.

IMO...
Currently best player in basketball is Lebron James, Kobe is good. but RIGHT NOW Lebron is best. It will be interesting to see by the end of his career how many championships he gets if any though...
In NBA history Kobe and Shaq are two of the best players I've ever seen (considering im only 15) lol, so I would have them both up there. But best ever besides Jordan? Ill go with Wily Chamberlain.

Currently, in the 2008-09 season, Lebron clearly had better stats, but in my opinion, it goes beyond that. You have to look at performances in the clutch. Sure, Lebron James did have that big shot in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, but he ultimately failed to bring his team into the Finals. He decided to take it upon himself to score over 40% of the team's points, which obviously has never caused a team to win it all.

Kobe has Gasol, Odom, Farmar, and Bynum though. WHO DOES LEBRON HAVE?

Kobe has Gasol, Odom, Farmar, and Bynum though. WHO DOES LEBRON HAVE? Odom is decent at best, he's been stepping it up lately. Farmar sucks, Gasol has not been nearly as good since traded to the Lakers, and Bynum always gets injured, and he has been playing meh at best since coming back. Lebron has Z, who is a former All-Star, Mo Williams, who is a very good PG. Lebron and Kobe both do not have too much help, but Kobe utilizes his in a much better way.

LeBron especially when he's done.
Wilt Chamberlain, Jabaar, Bird, Kobe, ... maybe Malone, Russell, Ewing, Stockton..

i think kobe is already where jordan was. sure he only has 4 rinqs, he still has at least 5 more years; and with the way he's leadinq his team, he'll easily pass jordan's 6. and wow; how can people compare lebron already? he dont even have rinqs; and cant lead his team to a championship. theres no I in team.
