I always liked Jim Edmonds in his prime. But I'd really have to go with Say Hey Willie Mays, since he did it all before.

Cant forget about Nolan Ryan... IMO, he is so overrated. He doesn't deserve to be in this thread. He was a great pitcher, but the best all time? Really? |

Cant forget about Nolan Ryan... IMO, he is so overrated. He doesn't deserve to be in this thread. He was a great pitcher, but the best all time? Really? I agree he is overrated. A great pitcher.. but nothing compared to Koufax, Johnson, Feller, and Clemens, among others. |

Heres my thoughts on ruth.
back when he player they played shorter season. and hr's had to land fair in the stand to be a hr even if it went out fair.
so 714 would have been probley atleast 800. Heck if you played today he may have been the only player to hit 1k hr's
he only had
8,398 ab's and only played in 2503 games
bonds played in almost 3000 and had over 12,000 ab's
Ruth hit a hr around every 12 ab's. so if it he said at the pass he would have. and had has many a bats as bonds did he would have hit atleast 900 Hrs. Maybe even 1k.
He would have had around 4000 hits
and around 3000 rbi's.
i rest my cause ruth is the greastest player of all time.
did i forget to add he had a .340 carrer bating average.
