I'm going to the national card show in Chicago this month, and I wondered if anyone has any pointers?

Really? Wow have gone to 5-6. The best one if you are in the Boston area is Shriners. 300 tables of pure heaven, lol.

Go for steals. Don't burn all your money out early. If you are there for more than one day, use day one to browse and get whatever your REALLY need. Day 2 is good to get some good deals before they run out. And day 3 is a good day to take what is left and find a bunch of steals. The key thing is, don't burn your money out early. You'll regret it when you see a major steal for $20.00 and you can't afford it. Take your time to look around first, then come back to the good stuff. The national is gigantic, so you will have a lot of walking to do. Bring your own snacks and water, because that stuff is crazy expensive. Try to limit yourself on wax. You may be tempted, but try to only get a few packs. The show is HUUUGE. So bring about $200 or more. Only stick to the bare necessities. There may be some sick cards, but only get what you really need. You could blow thousands on some stuff that looks sick, or you could limit yourself to stuff you really like and collect and spend only a couple hundred. Thats my advice, though I have never been to the National, I have picked up this advice from other big card shows I have been to and what I have heard. Go to Beckett, they have plenty of threads with pages full of advice.
