Pirates said they aren't trading Wilson
Despite rumors that the Dodgers are pursuing him, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports that "the Pirates expect to keep shortstop Jack Wilson beyond" the trading deadline. The Pirates can say whatever they want for now, but Wilson is owed $7.25 million next season with an $8.4 million team option for 2010, so if they can find a team willing to give up a decent prospect for him a deal makes all kinds of sense. The newspaper speculates that Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte are "the most likely Pirates to get traded."

What about jason bay? We have steve pearce andrew mccutchen and bay/mcclouuth next year. They should trade bay or mcclouth for some really good prospects.

Why in the world would they trade McLouth? Wilson and Bay are not being traded this year. Nady might be gone though, which leaves one spot in the OF for Pearce or Cutch.

Why would the Dodgers want Jack Wilsomn, when they have Furcal? One of the top 10 SS in the league

Nady will most likely leave at the deadline. Bay might be traded at the end of the year. McLouth is a lock for next year and most likely Bay and EITHER Cutch or Pearce. And if/when they trade Bay/Nady, they will not be focusing on trading for prospects. They need starting pitching more than anything.
