Mark Teixeira hit his 24th HR (on a 3-0 count, mind you!) to tie Russell Branyon, Justin Morneau and Carlos Pena for the AL lead. It was off Vin Mazzaro.

the AL leaders are barely at 24?
Adrian Gonzales has been sitting on 24 for a month. (finally hit 25th the other night though).
I'm an NL fan, so I like to rub the stats in to the AL's faces. But I guess stats don't matter when you haven't won an all-star game in 15 years.

It's not like the AL is that far away.

NL sorta sucks...whenever players go to NL they're better, going to AL they're not as good. AL owns NL, just look at ASGs.

I'm only an NL fan, because I like seeing pitchers hit. I hate the DH rule. its kinda stupid. If you get to have 4-5 at bats every night, you should also contribute defensively. I'll take Micah Owings as my starter over the best DH any day.

Yeah I agree, I hate the fact that the NL can DH their hitters and I'm only an NL fan because my team (cubbies), is in the NL, I don't really care about the AL or NL, I just love baseball, but I will say it seems like the AL has been better as of the last 10 years.

Hold on a minute... Everyone is saying how the AL is dominant... I feel I should point out what league the current defending world series champs are in.

IMO, that's just how one team matches up with the other. The Rays weren't the best AL team anyways last year, imo. It was clearly the Red Sox. They just collapsed and the Rays took advantage. The Rays are a very inexperienced playoff team (I'm aware the Phillies are as well). The Red Sox would have beaten in the Phillies in 5 or 6 games.

See, the NL has a couple good teams every year. This year, the Dodgers, Cardinals, and Phillies. The AL has the Yankees, Sox, Rays, Tigers, Angels, Rangers. It's a lot harder to make the playoffs in the American League, especially the AL East.

With the jet stream that Yankee Stadium is.. the AL leader better be a Yankee.
