I went to this guy's house today to help sell off his collection. He's the dad of a friend who graduated today. He had 7 Mantle 8x10s, 2 Mantle balls, 1 Ted Williams ball, 3 Willie Mays 8x10s, 1 Mays ball, Ozzie Smith ball, George Brett ball, MJ 8x10s, etc. All the big name players all on balls or 8x10s. He didn't even have most of his collection out. IT WAS AMAZING! And for helping him, he is paying me. I'm gonna see if he can give me a Mantle or Mays instead. ;D MJ's sig was full, not the 'M J' he gives out now!!! IT WAS SICK! He once had a stack of 50 MJ RCs, then he sold them. He also had an original 1911 T206 Ty Cobb 'Bat off the shoulder' card! He was really modest about it. IT WAS AMAZING!

Oh yeah, and I had another friend graduate and his mom had a Satchel Paige/Fergie Jenkins dual signed ball!

I went but forgot the camera. I'm going at another time. OK, so I went and he said he had a sweet Vikes piece to give me- for free! So I was like 'OK, let's see what it is' in my mind and he pulled out this:  ADRIAN PETERSON PLAQUE- really cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then, later on, he was showing me all this Mantle, DiMaggio, MJ, all the greats stuff. He pulled out a Ken Griffey Jr. Glove signed. It was cool. So he brought me to his bats. (Replicas Louisville Sluggers made for the player but the player never used. He had Tony Gwynn, Bo Jackson and many others) He pulled out a Griffey signed bat. He saw me staring at it and said "Here, you have it. On one condition. You give me that Jeter error w/ Bush and Mantle." I said sure. He had just wanted to kind of get rid of it I think and was glad to see it go to good hands. ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE. Griffey:   He got the Griffey 11 years ago. |
